THOMAS HENRY BAYLIS , son of Captain Thomas Baylis and Eleanor Spear, was born on 10 Apr 1792 in Walsall, Staffordshire, England. Baptized 30 Aug 1792 Saint Martin,Birmingham,Warwick,England, and died on 24 Feb 1853 in Balmain, New South Wales, Australia. He married Julia Dorothea Bartels, daughter of Christoffel Jacob Erontryk Bartels and Johanna Margretha Schuyling on 20 Aug 1821 in Calcutta, West Bengal, India. She was born on 07 Apr 1797 in Bambalapitiya Ceylon. She died on 02 Jun 1839 in Kishnagur", Balmain, New South Wales Australia.
